5Heavy Duty All Purpose Blade
By Knotscott
The Amana 610504 is a heavy duty full kerf industrial style general purpose combination blade that's suitable for many situations on a 10" table saw, and is especially well suited for fine woodworking. It does a great job ripping to ~ 2", and crosscuts very nicely. It's also suitable for plywood and other sheetgoods. Gives glue ready edges right off the saw every time, and has minimal tearout. The C4 micrograin carbide are enormous and will withstand numerous sharpenings. This is Amana's top line, and is a very well made precision blade that'll hold it's own against any in this class. Made in Israel.

p.s. For those who might be concerned by the previous irrelevant review, delivery took about 3 days (insert "rolleyes" emoticon here!).

5Very VERY good!
By mad mom
Several years ago I bought an Amana Tool 10" 80 tooth blade for fine crosscuts and plywood when a local tool store carried the brand and recommended the blade to me. I knew nothing about the brand at the time, but very quickly came to regard the blade as one of the best there was. It cuts fast and gives "glue line" smooth cross cuts (if you were so inclined) and plywood cuts with no tearing or chipping of plywood surface. Fast forward to present day, my 80 tooth blade required sharpening, but since I only owned a nice dedicated cross cut blade and a cheap dedicated ripping blade I decided it was high time to invest in a combination blade. I recall seeing this blade on display when I got my other Amana blade, but alas my local tool store has long ago dropped this brand, but an internet search led me to Amazon.

This blade is an "old school" combination blade which you do not see very often any more. It consists of 10 groups of 4 closely spaced alternate top bevel carbide cutters optimized for cross cuts plus a single carbide Raker to handle the ripping. It is very stiff and should not flex at all under load. The arbor is a nice tight fit on my table saw with virtually no slop. This means the blade will track true and not gouge out or leave marks or burn the wood you are cutting as long as the saw is adjusted properly (my cheap thin kerf ripper on the other hand...no such luck). This blade also has extra large (and very sharp) carbide cutters to withstand multiple sharpenings. Nice to see that at least one tool maker has not sir-come to peer pressure to cheapen the product and rely on your father's stories to sell contemporary product.

As for performance, first let me set some expectations. Combination blades are all about sacrifices. They don't excel at either cross cutting or ripping, but competent ones should do an acceptable job at both. That said, at cross cutting this blade is neither as fast nor smooth as the Amana 80 tooth cross cutting blade, but it certainly does a *very* respectable (and quite acceptable) job. Likewise, it is not as fast at accepting stock for ripping. Here again in the context of a combination blade I don't feel it's unacceptable, but if this blade is going to disappoint, this is probably where it would do so. On the plus side, a little patience is very well rewarded with one of the smoothest rip cuts I've seen from any blade. There is not a single saw mark or burn (something I cannot say of my cheap rip blade), and as the previous reviewer observed you very likely could butt join ripped stock from this blade without a jointer.

If you are looking for a good "do it all" blade, this blade is definitely worth considering.

5Excellent blade
By hawkman
I am a professional furniture builder and I use many Amana products. This blade will not disappoint. It has a lot of carbide for re-sharpening and makes a rip cut ready for glueing.
