Forrest's blades offer a superior cut that leaves a rip-cut saw edge that is as smooth as if it had been sanded, and a cross-cut edge that is almost mark-free. The blades run very quietly, and backside tearout in plywood is negligible. Each blade is virtually hand-made. The plate is hand-tensioned (up to 15 minutes per blade), superior C-4 carbide teeth are hand-brazed to the plate, and the blade is straightened and restraightened multiple times throughout the process. Think of a Forrest blade as a tool in your shop, not an accessory. Forrest stands behind it's blades by offering a sharpening service that bring blades back to the exact tolerances offered in a new blade. And this same exacting service is available for other manufacturer's blades as well, so they should come back better than new. Recommended for: thin, low pressure, two-sided laminates, plywood & fine cross cutting on all woods. Eliminates need for a small scoring saw blade on table saw work. The 40° points slice through thin bottom layers with no tears or chips. Reduced yearly sharpening costs - less machine downtime.

This blade is very sharp and makes very smooth plywood rips. I will buy Forrest blades from this point forward for all my sawing needs.

When crosscutting plywood and a butcher block with a Milwaukee 6394-21 circular saw I was unable to get burn free cuts. When the spinning blade touches the material it starts to smoke. I contacted the manufacturer but was unable to get a "straight" answer as to why an expensive universal saw blade is unable to cut hard wood. I checked my saw for any flaws and corrected any angles that might have impacted performance, but again no dice. Using the blade that came with my saw I had no problems, although the cuts are a bit ragged hence my need for more quality and teeth. While this product is being advertised as a crosscut and rip blade designed for cutting plywood with circular saws, it is not, so buyer beware. I did crosscut a plank of redwood and that turned out fine, but this isn't being advertised as a specialized blade for softwoods. I used this blade once, but after a month my Amazon return period expired. The manufacturer would not provide a refund also. They did agree to send me a new blade, although it's the less expensive Woodworker II and I'll have to "eat" the shipping cost. Perhaps my case is unique, but I felt the need to describe my experience so other people can make a more informed decision.

I'm a Forrest blade junkie. I'm using this one in my circular saw primarily to rip plywood. It works great. No tear out or chipping along cut lines. I use Forrest blades in all my saws and never have been dissapointed.
