5Excellent blade

I use the 10" 100T Alumi-Cut on a 3 hp Jet cabinet saw to cut aluminum (mainly 6061) ranging from thin sheet to heavy plate. Cutting up to maybe 3/4" is easy, and I've cut plate as thick as 1.5" a few times. Just go slow, and remember to squirt a bit of WD-40 on both sides of the blade every few cuts to reduce chip welding to the carbide teeth (for really thick plate, make that before every cut). Oh, and stand to the side when you start the saw as it will fling off the excess WD-40!

Thin sheet is even easier, though anything less than about 0.040 I back up with some 1/8" or 1/4" hardboard. Makes a cleaner cut with less risk that the blade will grab and tear the aluminum.

It does well in 2024 or 7075 too, but watch the gummy alloys. There tends to be more chip bonding to the teeth and it can make a rough cut, not to mention being a royal pain to have to pick the stuff off tooth by tooth. Check the teeth after each cut, don't let any buildup start and be liberal with WD-40 if you have to cut the gummy stuff.

Very Important: This is one time to toss out the rule of never wearing gloves while running a tablesaw. The aluminum will get quite hot and you'll be stuck halfway through a cut unable to hang onto the part and afraid to let go of it. Not a good feeling!

One caveat: watch out for thinwall tubing or thin extrusions where the cut isn't supported. If the unsupported stock is thin enough, there's a fair chance the blade will grab and tear the metal instead of cutting it. That sort of material is better cut on a horizontal bandsaw.

My local metal supplier has a beautiful precision plate saw and does a great job, but cutting charges add up fast and I've saved many hundreds of dollars in cutting charges over the last several years by cutting smaller parts myself.

This is a good blade. Use it to cut aluminum extrusion, does a good job but you have to watch the cut part from falling back into the blade as the teeth are subject to break, as the hardened part seems brittle. The Milwaukee alumicut blade is better in my opinion because the whole blade is hard and not just the edge.
